Bohol It Is

Every summer, I and my friends try to catch up with each other through an out-of-town trip. Amidst our busy schedules after college, we really try to find time to update ourselves and this year, the group has decided to invade the famous province of Bohol. It’s a perfect place to bond under the summer heat with its amazing beaches and fabulous tourist spots.

It was easy for us since we had the proper planning for a jam-packed, time-bounded and budget-concern trip. First off is the division of tasks from transportation to itinerary and I ended up to be the budget officer. We departed Friday night from CDO port through a Light Ferry in as low as P700. We arrived at Jagna port the next morning and transferred to a Multicab contracted long before the trip in as low as 5,000 for a 3-day tour.

A quick stop at Sandugo Site

Hi! Hello! To Prony the Phyton (P15 entrance)

The Mahogany Man-Made Forest. Be captivated by the romantic, whimsical and eclectic combination of this one-of-a kind attraction

Lunch at Loboc River Cruiseat P400

We've only seen the controversial Ship House in television as it was featured in ABS-CBN’s Rated K but this time, we got to explore its uniqueness. (P15 entrance)

Be Amazed by the World’s Famous Chocolate Hills

Close Encounter with the Tarsiers (P60 entrance)

I have to warn you. Although the sites above are beautiful and amazing places, it can get really tiring. We were on the road the whole day, driving from theport  toLoboc, to Bilar, to Carmen and backtpMaribojok where we stayed at a friend’s relative. You should also be able to estimate your arrival in Loboc if you already have a schedule with any of the floating restaurants there.

Day 2 – Panglao Island Hopping

Since our second day fell on a Sunday, we started the day with an early morning mass at  Tagbilaran’s Cathedral.

Panglao Island Hopping (P2,500 boat ride good for 10 persons, Balicasag and Virgin Island)

Sun-Bathing with girlfriends

Snorkelling at Virgin Island

After a day of island hopping, we just can’t get enough that we headed to a neighbouring cave, The Hinagdanan Cave (P15 entrance with outstanding guides/photographer)

After caving, we went back to the resort where we stayed earlier that day and waited for the breath-taking sunset while enjoying the clear waters of Panglao.

Day 3 – Farewell Breakfast with host at Maribojoc

Side-trip at Antequera for the natural twin-falls, the Mag-aso Falls (P20 entance)

The Church of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception in Baclayon is considered to be one of the oldest churches in the Philippines. It is one of the best presevered Jesuit build churches in the region, although in the 19th century, the Augustinian Recollects added a modern facade and a number of stone buildings that now surround the church.

Final stop: Baclayon Church

The 3-day trip ended after a pasalubong shopping of Bohol’s souvenirs and delicacies including Calamay and Peanut Kisses at Bohol Quality Mall. After dinner, we departed back to CDO through Trans-Asia (P800) and brought the good memories we made at Bohol with a total spending of less than P5,000.
